What is a ListServ

A ListServ is an e-mail discussion group where members are given the opportunity to ask questions or share information. Once you join the ListServ, you may send an e-mail to the ListServs specified address and your message will automatically be forwarded to other PSPA members who have joined the ListServ. The members of the ListServ can then respond to just the sender, the entire list or choose not to respond at all. It is a great way to get advice from several people at one time or to share information with a large group that could benefit from the information.

Why Should I Use a ListServ

The purpose of our ListServ is to share information or get advice on issues you face in your practice. Maybe you are looking to change your software and would like some feedback from other users. You can send an e-mail out to the ListServ to ask if anyone has experience with a particular brand of software. There maybe breaking accounting or tax news you would like to share with your fellow members. Maybe you would like to discuss a recent notice one of your client’s received from the PA Department of Revenue. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with your peers instantly.

How Do I Post a Question to the ListServ

Once you join the ListServ, simply send an e-mail to a specified ListServ address and your message will automatically be forwarded to everyone who has joined the ListServ. If you need help or are having trouble posting a message, please contact Bonnie Hackman at bonnie@pspa-state.org.

Features of the PSPA ListServ

Features of the PSPA ListServ The PSPA ListServ offers two options for receiving email messages: individual or daily digest. The individual setting allows members to receive email messages as they are sent. The daily digest setting allows members to receive one e-mail message that contains all of the messages that were sent to the list that day. You can sign up for the daily digest on the subscribe/unsubsribe page. All messages sent to the ListServ will be archived on the PSPA web site. You can view the messages by date or by subject.
